Senior Housing Advising
For Seniors
For Seniors
Some day, a large percentage of us will be faced with the decision of where to live during our declining years. It isn’t a decision to which most people look foreward, but sooner or later, we will have to make it or it will be forced upon us. That is, it will be made for us if we become unable to do so due to cognitive decline, or if health otherwise declines to the point where relocating to a senior living community becomes necessary. It is better to make that decision on your own terms when you will likely have more options from which to choose. One part of that decision involves the type and probably the location of care. Another part is the financial aspect, i.e., cost, of the decision. I can assist with both parts of your decision so you make the best choice possible for your own wishes and circumstances. I am not compensated by the senior living communities we will discuss, so you can be comfortable with the choice you are making.
For Loved Ones
For Loved Ones
Loved ones will likely be a part of your senior living decision. Nationally about 2/3 of the search for senior living and care is handled by the adult children of seniors. They and you will be affected by the decisions made, or not made. Discussing alternatives and identifying expectations in advance will reduce the potential for conflict in the future. At your request and approval, I will work alongside both you and your loved ones.
"Some people will enjoy a long and peaceful life, but if we live long enough, the effects of age are inevitable. For many, their later years will bring a diminishment of physical or cognitive abilities that will challenge the ability of family or friends to provide needed care. Planning for that possibility is a genuine demonstration of love for family and friends, and may be the last good deed we do for them."
Whether you decide to remain in your home, age-in-place, or relocate to a senior community, my goal is to help you make the best decision for you.
We are here to help you.
